Ipswich Town are pushing to further strengthen their attacking options before the transfer deadline, with Burnley forward Zian Flemming now closing in on a move to Portman Road.
The Tractor Boys have already made a major investment since returning to the Premier League, bringing in 13 new players during a busy summer window.
Flemming Set for Ipswich Medical
Burnley striker Zian Flemming is undergoing a medical with Ipswich Town this afternoon, according to Sky Sports News’ James Green.
Ipswich are understood to have made a significant push for the Dutchman, who has caught the attention of several clubs after making an impressive start to the new campaign.
The 27-year-old has already scored three times in four appearances this season, while he found the net 11 times for Burnley during their Premier League campaign last term.
Flemming’s form is no surprise to former Burnley manager Scott Parker, who previously described the forward as “fantastic”.
Burnley are reluctant to lose one of their key attacking players so close to the deadline, particularly with little time available to find a replacement. However, the Clarets are believed to value Flemming at around £20 million, meaning a substantial offer could prove difficult to reject.
Brentford are also reportedly keeping tabs on Flemming’s situation, while Lille also credited with an interest. However, Ipswich now appear to be in pole position to secure his signature before Tuesday’s deadline.
Ipswich have already added considerable firepower this summer, with Emersonn, Abdul Fatawu, Chuba Akpom, Daizen Maeda and Julio Enciso among those arriving as Gary O’Neil reshapes his squad.
