Excitement at the Transfer Tavern is building as Euro 2016 is edging ever closer.
The tournament is set to be one of the most hotly contested European Championship’s of modern times, with current champions Spain thrown into the mix with a dominant Germany, a fresh faced France and an ever hopeful England.
Germany are one of the favourites to take home the trophy this summer, having won the 2014 World Cup in Brazil in resounding fashion.
Joachim Lowe has an outrageously strong squad at his disposal – where he could field almost two title worthy starting XI’s – but if his side are to steal Spain’s trophy, they will have to navigate out of what could be a tricky group first.
Group C consists of themselves, Poland, Ukraine and shock winners of their qualifying group Northern Ireland. While it may seem fairly straight forward, it wasn’t so long ago that Poland pulled off a shock defeat over the German’s during qualifying.
Regardless of the outcome, the group will consist of some fascinating ties and give each country a chance to show of its most talented players whilst the world watches on.
Fans and managers alike will be keeping a beady eye on the tournament, including Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino who will be looking for his summer recruits following only just missing out on the Premier League title this season at Spurs.

Shkodran Mustafi
Spurs had the best defensive line in the Premier League last season, so it may beg the question as to why fix something that is not broken, however, Kevin Wimmer is really the only viable replacement should their main two of Alderweireld and Vertonghen pick up an injury.
Mustafi has been the stand out player for Valencia in what has been a poor season for Los Che.
The 24-year-old German is a big game player, and has both the ability and physical attributes to succeed in the Premier League.
Grzegorz Krychowiak
Whilst Spurs have two of the most impressive defensive midfielders in the Premier League at their disposal – those being Eric Dier and Moussa Dembele – reinforcements are needed, as demonstrated in calamitous fashion by the Lilywhites who struggled tremendously in their last three games without Belgian Dembele in the side.
Krychowiak is a bruising defensive midfielder who has had a fantastic season with Sevilla, but could be available for a fee of around £30 million this summer with the Europa League winners prepared to part ways with the Polish international.
Leroy Sane
Sane is on the radar of just about every big club in Europe following his terrific season with Schalke 04, in which the German international scored 9 goals and provided 7 assists for his team-mates.
The 20-year-old is versatile, and can play pretty much anywhere across the front line.
Dazzling with the ball at his feet, Sane excites almost every time he picks up the ball and could be a perfect addition to Spurs front line which lacks strength in depth.
Andriy Yarmolenko
Ukraine’s star man has signalled his intent of a Premier League move this summer back in April, will certainly attract a host of the leagues biggest clubs, including both Arsenal and Liverpool.
The pacy winger has an impressive scoring record for both club and country: scoring 113 times in 288 appearances or Dynamo Kiev, and netting 23 times in 57 games for Ukraine. A real danger man.
Will Grigg
While the name might not sound as exotic as those previous, Grigg has had a fantastic season at Wigan, finishing top scorer of League One and guiding his side to the title along the way.
The Northern Ireland striker was also recently named PFA Fan’s Player of the Year.
Unwanted by former club Brentford, Grigg has scored for fun at both MK Dons and now Wigan, so will go into Euro 2016 with plenty of confidence.
Spurs should keep watch, as the 24-year-old could be Northern Ireland’s answer to Jamie Vardy.
