Tottenham travel to struggling Newcastle United this weekend, on a run that has seen them take just four points out of the last possible 12.
That run has all but ended their hopes of a top four finish, with last Saturday’s home defeat to struggling Aston Villa particularly tough to take.
On the whole, it has been a season of progress for Mauricio Pochettino and his side – and Harry Kane in particular.
The club will definitley need to add some reinforcements to support him in the summer however, with Pochettino having suffered during his debut season from mistakes made in the transfer market the previous year.

Lewis Holtby
Tottenham fans were delighted when they managed to pip a number of clubs to the capture of Lewis Holtby in January 2013, but after a while everyone was wondering what all the fuss was about.
Spurs certainly had no shortage of options when it came to midfielders, and the German struggled for any sort of regular game time at White Hart Lane.
He was sent on loan to Fulham after just 12 months, and played no further part at the club – leaving for good only last summer.
Etienne Capoue
One of those signings made in the summer of 2013, Tottenham fans still have no idea what exactly an Etienne Capie is or what it does.
The Frenchman had only been at White Hart Lane for five months before he was linked with a move, with both Napoli and a return to France mentioned as possible destinations.
Capoue stayed, but has since failed to impress three managers at Tottenham now, with Pochettino following AVB and Tim Sherwood in keeping him warming the bench.
Surely he will be axed this summer.
Vlad Chiriches
Chiriches was brought to Tottenham last summer by the ill-fated Andre Villas-Boas and many Spurs fans remain unconvinced by the Romanian.
Few Romanians have graced the Premier League and it is unlikely that Chiriches will be around for much longer with young Eric Dier having enjoyed a decent first season after signing from Sporting Lisbon, and Mauricio Pochettino having identified a new centre back as a priority signing in the summer.
Steven Pienaar
Tottenham were amongst those interested in signing Steven Pienaar in January 2011.
But the move for the South African seemed little more than an ill-advised attempt to get one over on Chelsea, who were also interested in the playmaker.
Pienaar never got a regular run in the first team at Tottenham and returned to Everton for £4.5 million after 18 months of sitting on the bench and making ineffective cameos in north London.
David Bentley
Signed from Blackburn in a £15 million deal in 2008, Bentley has been a disastrous acquisition for the club on a reported £50,000-a-week pay packet.
A stunning goal in a famous 4-4 draw against Arsenal aside, Bentley contributed nothing to justify his price tag or his wages during his time at White Hart Lane.
The man once described as the ‘new David Beckham’ has retired from football recently, having claimed he fell out of love with the game following his move to Tottenham – where everything began to unravel for him.
