Spurs are looking to sign Marlos Romero from Shakhtar Donetsk according Spanish outlet Fichajes, and the Spurs fans in the Transfer Tavern are hoping he’s the first of many to join the club this summer!
Romero has twelve goals from 48 games this season from midfield and would be a welcome addition to a squad that still to some extent relies on Harry Kane’s goals.
The likes of Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen have done well in contributing to the goals tally this year for Tottenham, but goal-scoring midfielders are always vital in a title chasing team and Romero would add even more attacking threat.
Spurs are going into 2016/17 as one of the sides to watch, they have exciting young players with the potential to be world class, a top class manager in Mauricio Pochettino and stadium works planned to take the club forward.
It’s a good time to be a Spurs fan and with Champions League football next year, a good time to be a Spurs player.

Denis Suarez
Suarez showed his ability on the European stage against Liverpool in the Europa League semi final.
The former Manchester City youngster has all the poise and technical ability of a typical Spanish footballer, and the chances he would create for the likes of Harry Kane would be the stuff of dreams for the White Hart Lane faithful. as well as chipping in with his own goals.
Sandro Ramirez
Ramirez has reportedly been told he can leave by his club Barcelona and could be a surprise star if Spurs go for him.
Barcelona have a knack of producing great players that can’t quite cut it at their astronomical level but still have the ability to play for some of the biggest clubs around Europe.
Spurs would benefit from Ramirez’s quick feet and passing as they duke it out with the continent’s best.
Saido Berahino
Berahino is still getting linked to the club just as he was last season and would surely jump at the chance of Champions League football.
He still has much to learn but would benefit from being surrounded by players similar to his age at Spurs, and with the likes of Pochettino coaching him he’d perhaps have the best chance of fulfilling that potential he evidently has.
Juan Cuadrado
Whether Chelsea would want to let Cuadrado join massive rivals Spurs could prove a sticking point, but the Colombian is clearly out of favour at the club despite his obvious talents.
The wide forward has been in good form for Juventus this season proving what he still has to offer and Spurs, with their high pressing football, would arguably be a better fit for him than the Blues.
Saul Niguez
The Atletico Madrid man scored a great goal against Bayern Munich in the Champions League semi final, and has announced himself to the big stage this season in La Liga too.
Nine goals in 47 appearances for Diego Simeone’s men as well as four assists highlight his quality and with his Champions League experience he’d be a great addition for Tottenham.
This is the kind of player Spurs need to be going for to consolidate their place as title challengers.
