Our Middlesbrough fans have become the centre of attention here in the Transfer Tavern as many of our punters are keen to see what they make of their club’s latest decision.
But, in case you’ve missed it, the club from the Riverside Stadium today announced that they have decided to sack Aitor Karanka with immediate effect.
The Spanish manager, of course, helped get the club into the Premier League last season from the Championship but that has had little bearing on this decision it seems.
What has done for Karanka, though, must be the club’s poor form and their real inability to score goals at the moment.
Indeed, whoever comes in will have to address that straightaway and, according to Sky Bet, Nigel Pearson is the early favourite.
The former Leicester manager knows what it takes to keep a side up when they’re up against it but it seems that many Boro fans on Twitter do not want him to come in.
So, with that in mind, here’s some of the best of what has been said:

Agree. Nigel Pearson surely a very good #Boro shout. Ex skipper, led brilliantly. Knows a bit about staying up! https://t.co/tSnARd0onr
