Their side demolished Huddersfield on Saturday afternoon, with a clinic from Harry Kane proving his importance to his team once again.
However, one player really struggled – as he has on more than one occasion this season – against the Terriers. It has been an uncharacteristic start to the season by Dele Alli, and whilst he has been far from Tottenham’s worst player, he has been far below the high par that he has set over the last year or so.
After impressing throughout last season, Alli’s slump in form is concerning to all in the Transfer Tavern, and so a few vocal fans have suggested that it might be time for him to spend a week or two on the sidelines.
A variety of factors could be influencing his form: tiredness, complacency or indeed a simple lack of luck, but one thing is certain – it can’t continue.
