Aston Villa striker Wesley suffered a horrible knee injury last season, and he is now on the road to recovery. The club posted a video of his progress and a lot of fans are buzzing to see him return in the near future.
The cruciate ligament rupture that he suffered against Burnley has seen the Brazilian miss at least 40 games (366 days) (Transfermarkt). One fan replied to the tweet, saying that seeing his return to training was ‘amazing’.
The 23-year-old was looking to adapt to English football following his arrival in the summer of 2019. He had featured 22 times, picking up one assist and six goals. One of these goals came in the Burnley match where he suffered his injury, as it felt like he was just beginning to prove his worth as a Villa player.
It is good to see that a year after his injury, he is able to be doing some more intense recovery involving him running on the football pitch again, and he will be hoping that he can feature at some point in the New Year.
