It’s been a woeful season so far for West Ham United, who have been left battling to avoid relegation and are yet to fully settle into life at their new home of the Olympic Stadium.
Following an early exit to Manchester City in the third round of the FA Cup, West Ham’s season took a turn for the worse this week when Slaven Bilic confirmed the news that no Hammers fan wants to hear – Dimitri Payet wants to leave.
That puts more pressure upon Slaven Bilic in the January transfer window, as they’ll need to decide exactly what course of action they want to take with Payet and still strengthen their side in the January transfer window.
With some rather embarrassing approaches for Robert Snodgrass and Jermain Defoe already falling on deaf ears, the Hammers need to buck their ideas up and moving for these two targets immediately would be a step in the right direction.
Memphis Depay
The young winger looks likely to leave Manchester United this month and West Ham should take a punt on his talent, especially if they fail to keep hold of Dimitri Payet. Already a capable player, Memphis Depay would provide a positive impact at the Olympic Stadium.
Still just 22, Depay also has plenty of room to improve in the future and presents plenty of sell-on value in the coming years. With United reportedly asking for just £15m, West Ham would be unwise to ignore the situation.
Scott Hogan
The name linked with West Ham consistently during the January transfer window, Slaven Bilic’s side need to stop messing about and push through a deal for the Brentford striker- as they’re not in a position to pinch pennies.
The 24-year-old fits the bill for the Hammers and boasts 14 goals in 25 Championship matches this season, an incredible return.
Brentford will sell for the right price and West Ham need to match that figure, as Hogan may be the answer to their attacking woes.
