The Leeds fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to comments made by club legend Eddie Gray in the Yorkshire Evening Post. Gray has suggested that the club need to shift their attention to proven Championship players and should focus on quality over quantity after a poor year has dragged the club down to midtable.
The Leeds fans propping our bar up have suffered a dismal year in 2018. The club has won just a single game since the turn of the year and after such a promising start to the season, it’s left the fans dejected and facing another season in England’s second tier. Elland Road has long been a place starved of top-flight football and that time away from the top is set to increase. The club sit 14th in the Championship with almost no hope of a playoff spot with eight games remaining.
Eddie Gray knows what it takes to bring Leeds United success. The 70-year-old played his entire career at the Yorkshire club in the sixties, seventies and eighties and has also had two stints in the managerial hot seat at the club. The club could hardly go wrong using his advice too as the former Scottish international has made a lot of sense suggesting the club should look to quality players who know the Championship if they are to get out of it. It’s just a matter now of whether the club’s hierarchy takes a note of what Gray is saying, as they continue to aspire for a Premier League return.
Here’s what our local Whites’ make of Gray’s comments:

Been trying to get out of this league for 14 years with no plan only ever sold our best players and replaced em with cheap replacements can only do a Brighton if you keep your better players and build around them that’s what a plan is

Agree a lot with Eddie comments, but some of the player's will come on (foreign one's) from the experience alone..
A better partner for jansson is a good place to start followed by the keeper situation, Just hope they don't penny pinch on these two positions.— Benjamin Thornton (@BenjaminTlufc) March 26, 2018

it’s what we have wanted since the Cellino days. Quality over numbers.

I totally 100% agree. Quality seasoned championship players. I've said this all along. Don't mind foreign players but they need introducing slowly to get into the English way of playing
