Chelsea’s summer rebuild is continuing to gather momentum under new head coach Xabi Alonso, with plenty more changes expected before the transfer window closes.
The Blues have already seen Marc Cucurella depart for Real Madrid, while Enzo Fernandez continues to be linked with a switch to the Spanish giants.
Meanwhile, Marco Palestra and Geovany Quenda have arrived to strengthen the squad, and Chelsea are now turning their attention towards adding another young English talent.
Chelsea Interested in Alex Scott
According to talkSPORT, Chelsea are expected to test Bournemouth’s resolve with a move for Alex Scott in the coming days.
The England Under-21 international enjoyed an impressive campaign as Bournemouth secured European qualification, attracting attention from several Premier League heavyweights. Arsenal have already seen interest rebuffed, while Manchester City are also monitoring the midfielder’s situation.
Despite the growing list of admirers, Bournemouth have no intention of selling Scott and are instead hoping to reward him with a new long-term contract.
Chelsea’s interest has reportedly intensified after they suffered a setback in their pursuit of Sunderland midfielder Granit Xhaka, with the Black Cats determined to keep hold of their captain.
The Cherries are believed to value Scott at around £80 million, meaning Chelsea would likely need to make a significant offer if they are to have any chance of prising one of Bournemouth’s key players away this summer.
