Chelsea forward in ‘advanced talks’ to leave Stamford Bridge

Chelsea’s summer rebuild is gathering pace following a hugely underwhelming 2025/26 campaign that saw the club finish 10th in the Premier League and miss out on European football entirely.

The Stamford Bridge hierarchy are preparing for a significant reshuffle, with both arrivals and departures expected across the squad.

Several first-team names are already being linked with exits, including Liam Delap, Axel Disasi, Tosin Adarabioyo, Marc Guiu, Nicolas Jackson, and even Marc Cucurella and Enzo Fernández, underlining the scale of change being considered in west London.

Now, another young forward appears to be edging closer to the exit door.

Chelsea Close to Selling Jimmy-Jay Morgan

According to Football Insider, Chelsea are in advanced discussions over the sale of striker Jimmy-Jay Morgan to West Bromwich Albion.

The Championship side, who secured their second-tier status late in the 2025/26 season, are looking to strengthen their squad this summer as they aim to push on under James Morrison. However, financial constraints mean they will need to be selective in the market.

Morgan, 20, has been on West Brom’s radar as a value signing who could offer long-term potential. Despite scoring 21 goals in 46 appearances for Chelsea’s Under-21s, the England Under-20 international has yet to make a senior appearance for the club.

With just a year remaining on his contract, Chelsea are understood to be open to cashing in on the forward rather than risk losing him for a reduced fee later on.

Chelsea originally paid around £3 million for Morgan in 2023 and are now expected to accept a modest fee to ensure a return on their investment. Talks are ongoing, but a deal is believed to be moving in the right direction as West Brom look to complete an early summer addition.
