The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern can’t get their heads around this…
Chelsea’s striker saga this season is a strange one, with Diego Costa firing on all cylinders and back-up Michy Batshuayi nowhere to be seen.
With Costa suspended last weekend, the majority in the Transfer Tavern expected Batshuayi to get his chance – but it just wasn’t to be. The Belgian had to settle for 30 seconds at the end of the game, and as a result, a few of the Blues in the Transfer Tavern have been speculating whether the Belgian could be set for a January departure.
The chances of that now appear to be significantly higher, with a report emerging from AS to suggest that Chelsea are keen on Swansea forward Fernando Llorente.
The move, which would undoubtedly come as a shock, comes as Conte looks to add a bit of striking depth to his forward line – with the Italian reportedly ‘unhappy’ with Michy Batshuayi.
The proposed move is not a popular one amongst the Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern, with many pointing towards the potential of Batshuayi alongside the age of Llorente as their two main reasons.
It must be noted that whilst Batshuayi hasn’t lit West London alight, he hasn’t really been given much of a chance – and there isn’t a single person in the Transfer Tavern that believes Llorente would be a better option.
Our landlord simply cannot get his head around this…
