Club confirm major development in Rangers manager chase

The Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern have been awaiting news on their managerial situation for several weeks now…

Following the confusing nature in which Mark Warburton was sacked, confusion has reigned supreme over Ibrox in recent weeks – and their results have reflected that.

The Gers are on a poor run of form, and the fans in the Transfer Tavern desperately want to see something more long-term put in place.

It seems that the club are one step to securing that long-term plan, too, with Qatari side Al-Gharafa confirming on Twitter that they have given their manager, Pedro Caixinha, permission to join the club.

See that Tweet below…

The information remains unconfirmed from Rangers point of view, though it would seem as if the appointment is edging closer.

A little-known manager in Europe, 46-year-old Portuguese boss has been in charge of Al-Gharafa since 2015. Other clubs that he has managed include Santos Laguna and Nacional.

This has drawn a mixed response in the Transfer Tavern, with the Rangers fans in the pub concerned that he might not have the experience in England that might be required.
