Conor Wickham’s Buy Out Clause!

Ipswich Town online fanzine Those Were The Days is saying that Conor Wickham has a buy out clause in his Tractor Boy contract.

This is hardly an innovative deal, but it does add at the very least hope to the case of any prospective buyers.

The Wickham story has dragged on a little with rumours doing the rounds that he has been scouted by everyone apart from Baden Powell. It’s early days for Wickham and he is still developing as a player. But the amount of money being mooted can only serve to speed the process up.

Stuart Pearce is a fan, “I thought Connor did quite well. You’ve got to bear in mind he’s 17 years old, so he’s extremely young in this age group. He can play in the next two or three tournaments, all being well.

“Maybe he has to tidy his feet up a little bit and keep possession of the ball better once he secures it, but they’re learning things for young players.

“He’s a big handful physically and he’s an improving talent, as they all are. It’s my job to make sure I support that.”

£15M? Mmmn. A lot of money. Would you take a punt on him?

Well now, when it comes to football, one man has for many years been the most noticeable, the most controversial, and occasionally the most successful blogger this country has ever produced. His pithy words and abrasive style make him as famous off the pitch as he is on it. This man is Escapini. "I love football. Football she's a cruel mistress. She's, she's more than a mistress. She's a wife, she's a mother, she's a daughter, she's an errant child. She's a… she's a… she can make you laugh, she make you cry. She can bring tears me eyes. She can bring blood to me shoulders. She can bring a kettle to the boil." "Cause football is about nothing, unless it's about something and what it is about, is football."
