Manchester United will no doubt be keen to have a strong January window, with Jose Mourinho seemingly desperate to add some new talent to his squad.
One area of the field which is definitely in need of strengthening is in defence, where it is not only at centre half where Mourinho could do with adding some quality.
We at the Transfer Tavern think a new right back could be the order of the day, with Antonio Valencia a shadow of his former self and Ashley Young still unconvincing as a regular in either full back role at Old Trafford.
However, one man who we think would be a superb addition is Barcelona and Spain star Sergi Roberto, who is making quite the reputation for himself over La Liga and emerging as a star for the Catalan giants.
Roberto, who is already valued at a whopping £55m by Transfermarkt, has an adaptability about his game which makes him look at ease in a whole host of positions, including down the right hand side of defence, where he has been superb for Barca.
The 26-year-old arguably still has his best years ahead of him too, but while Barcelona will be keen to keep hold, a move to the English game and the chance of joining United might well excite the Spaniard.
Classy with the ball and a solid all around presence in any squad in world football, Roberto would be a superb addition for the Red Devils if they could indeed broker a deal.
