David Moyes has taken his Sunderland players to a local car factory in a bit to improve team spirit, The Mirror reports.
Our resident Black Cats fans here in the Transfer Tavern certainly hope it’s going to work, with their side floundering at the bottom of the Premier League table.
The men from the Stadium of Light have not won a game in the top flight so far this season under their latest boss, who took over from Sam Allardyce in the summer.
Moyes, reportedly, does have the backing of the Sunderland board however, as he hopes that getting the players to experience what ‘real-life’ is like at the Nissan factory they went to, helps them turn out some better performances on the pitch.
The Black Cats are eight points off of safety with West Ham in 17th on ten points and travel to Bournemouth this weekend in search for an elusive three points.
One Sunderland fan here in the bar said: “I hope it works, we need the team to be together in this battle and anything that might help do that is more than welcome.”
Our landlord here in the Tavern thinks the Mackems are doomed, and can’t see the club staying in the top-flight at all.
