The Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern have been evaluating their options this summer, and when the rumour broke in The Mirror that the club were looking into signing Benjamin Pavard from Stuttgart, they agreed that he wasn’t what they were looking for.

The Tottenham fans propping our bar up enjoyed an up and down season last time out, with a solid defensive unit only let down on the odd occasion by the rashness of Serge Aurier. However, the fans have been turning their noses up at links to Pavard as they don’t believe the club should be focusing on signing a defender this summer. The French defender has impressed at the World Cup but Spurs fans simply looking for other positions.
The Lilywhites aren’t the only ones linked to Pavard this transfer window. Their not-so-noisy neighbours are supposedly lining up a move for the versatile 22-year-old. So far the World Cup has seen Pavard deployed at right-back, despite the fact he usually turns out in the heart of the defence for his club side in the Bundesliga. The summer could be a huge turning point in the young Frenchman’s career with the right move having the potential to turn him into a world star, unfortunately, though, that move won’t be to Tottenham.

Whilst Pavard is having a great World Cup, the Spurs fans in the Tavern aren’t yet convinced that he’s what they need.
