Drop them: Carvalhal must axe these 2 players from today’s starting Sheff Wed XI against Derby

Sheffield Wednesday will head into another crucial game this weekend in their quest for promotion, entertaining a Derby side who have been looking better under Gary Rowett.

The Owls won once again last week, scrapping out a 2-1 win over a resilient QPR side to come away from Loftus Road with three vital points.

The Wednesday fans in the Tavern this week have been in a good mood though, and they always look forward to a fixture with the Rams, despite Derby not having a chance of making the top six.

Their manager Carlos Carvalhal has been known for rotating his squad this term, and our Owls fans at the bar think that he could be at it again this weekend.
With that in mind, here are TWO players Sheffield Wednesday could look to axe this weekend…

Liam Palmer

It might be a case of who does he replace him with, but Palmer has been far from impressive over the last few weeks and many Owls fans will argue he is the weak link in the team.

Palmer might well find himself out of the team if Carvalhal opts for some changes to the back four this weekend.

Steven Fletcher

With an abundance of talent in the squad up front, Carvalhal has often rotated his pack this season.

This week could be no different, and Fletcher could find himself out of the team, with the likes of Jordan Rhodes, Sam Winnall, and Fernando Forestieri all lying in wait.
