Drop them: Rowett must axe these 2 players from today’s starting Derby XI against Forest

Derby are currently on a miserable run of form, with no win in six and three consecutive defeats costing Steve McClaren his job.

The Rams have been quick to act though, and have appointed former defender Gary Rowett as the man they think can lead them to glory over the next 12 months and finally seal a place back in the Premier League.

Here in the Transfer Tavern, the fans are now optimistic that with Rowett at the helm, they can turn a corner and begin to push on to where the fans feel the club belongs.

First up for Rowett, is a local derby against biggest rivals Nottingham Forest, and it couldn’t be more of a baptism of fire for the former Birmingham City manager.

Squad selection is sure to be something he is judged on this weekend, so with this in mind, we take a look at TWO players Rowett could loook to drop from the line-up to face Nottingham Forest this weekend…

Julien De Sart

The on loan Middlesbrough man was replaced last time out, and he could well find his place under threat this weekend.

Craig Bryson replaced him that day, and with Bryson the sort of player who Rowett will no doubt love to work with, he could opt to make this change today.

David Nugent

Another who was withdrawn in the game with Brighton, Nugent has not exactly set the world alight since making the move to the Rams earlier in the season.

Rowett will have options in the form of Anya, Russell, and Hughes waiting in the wings, and Rowett could well opt to make this sort of change for his first game in charge today.
