Leeds target Everton striker as part of £100m spree - Everton Transfer Rumours

Newly promoted Premier League side Leeds could be set for a £100m spending spree this summer, and have added Everton striker Beto to their wish list according to SkySports. Three time Premier League champions – then called the English First Division – will make their highly anticipated return to the top flight next season after a two year hiatus.

Daniel Farke’s men are said to be targeting a new striker as well as a new goalkeeper, centre-back, and central-midfielder as priority signings this summer and could be given a £100m war chest to complete the deals.

Everton joint-leading scorer Beto has seven goals in 27 Premier League appearances this season after making the striker position his own under David Moyes. He cost the club £25.8 million in a deal from Italian side Udinese in 2023 and has two years remaining on his deal. He could command a sizeable fee as Everton will look to make a profit.

Should he be allowed to leave this summer, his fee could put a significant dent in Leeds’ war kitty but it remains to be seen how far the Championship winners are willing to go to get their man.

As for Everton, they have their work cut out for them this summer as 15 players are out of contract next month. They will look to sort out contract extensions as well as new signings. Buoyed by a move to their new state of the ark Bramley Moore Dock stadium, they are said to be targeting a spree of their own and could need funds to balance the books which may work in Leeds’ favor.

Leeds gearing up for big summer

Leeds Chairman Paraag Marathe triumphantly stated the club’s intentions of becoming “one of the best clubs in all of Europe”.

“I hope I never forget this moment. I want to live in this moment as much as I can,” he said while sitting atop Leeds’ parade bus.

“This is a journey, this is not the end. We have to keep going, this is what Leeds does.”

“We are going to have some difficulties, but we are going to get where we want to go and we are going to be one of the best clubs in all of Europe.”

Leeds have been linked with moves for several star names this summer in their hopes for a prolonged stay in the Premier League. Arsenal great Paul Merson tipped Leeds to consider a move for Raheem Sterling, while others urged the club to snap up departing Leicester great Jamie Vardy.

Liam Delap of Ipswich and Wilfred Ndidi of Leicester are also available for reasonable fees thanks to relegation clauses and could fancy a stay in the Premier League. The same can be said for experienced fullback Kyle Walker-Peters, who does not have a relegation clause but finds himself a free agent this summer from relegated Southampton.

These names as well as others have been linked with moves to Leeds and could be tempted to help return the club to former glory.
