Everton’s need for a reliable elite-level goalscorer remains one of the biggest talking points heading into the summer transfer window.
While Beto has shown encouraging improvement with nine Premier League goals this season, and both Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Thierno Barry have chipped in with eight apiece, the Toffees still lack the kind of consistent attacking talisman capable of firing them further up the table.
Iliman Ndiaye’s six-goal contribution has helped spread the threat across the frontline, but David Moyes is understood to want another proven Premier League attacker added to the squad this summer.
And it now appears Everton are monitoring a player the Scotsman knows extremely well.
Everton Keeping Tabs on Bowen
According to the Daily Mail, Everton are among the clubs keeping a close eye on West Ham forward Jarrod Bowen ahead of a potential summer move.
Bowen — once described as a “goalscorer” by Moyes during their time together at the London Stadium — is attracting growing interest despite uncertainty surrounding West Ham’s future.
Liverpool and Newcastle are both believed to be admirers of the England international, but Everton’s interest carries an extra layer due to Moyes’ relationship with the player. It was the veteran manager who brought Bowen to West Ham from Hull City back in 2020 during his second spell in charge of the Hammers.
The 29-year-old has since developed into one of the Premier League’s most dependable attackers, becoming West Ham’s top scorer in four of the last five seasons while also captaining the side and scoring the winner in the 2023 Europa Conference League final.
With West Ham facing major uncertainty both on and off the pitch, there is increasing belief that Bowen could be available this summer — even if the club avoid relegation. Reports suggest interested clubs feel a deal below the £60million mark may be possible.
For Everton, landing a player of Bowen’s quality would represent a huge statement. Proven in the Premier League, experienced internationally and already trusted by Moyes, he fits the profile of the kind of attacker capable of immediately improving the Toffees’ frontline.
Whether Everton can realistically compete financially with clubs like Liverpool and Newcastle remains another question entirely, but the interest itself underlines the ambition beginning to grow around the club heading into the summer window.
