Everton are one of the Premier League clubs interested in signing Coventry City attacker Viktor Gyokeres, and the Toffees have reportedly now made contact with the Sky Blues.
The Lowdown: Gyokeres’ season so far
This season has seen the 24-year-old score 12 goals and provide one assist in 23 Championship appearances ahead of Coventry’s match against Cardiff City tonight.
Having made 262 club appearances throughout his career at senior and youth levels, the Sweden international has scored 110 goals in total, showing how capable he is of finding the back of the net.
Now that the January transfer window is just days away from opening, the Coventry star has caught the attention of several Premier League clubs.
The Latest: Everton make contact
According to a recent report from 90 Min, Everton, alongside other top-flight clubs such as Brentford, Crystal Palace, Leeds United and Wolves, have made an enquiry to Coventry over Gyokeres’ availability in January.
The report also adds that the Championship club are looking to pick up around £16m for the striker.
The Verdict: A crucial signing for Lampard
In addition to his goals in the Championship this season, the Coventry star has also racked up more shots at goal (65), shots on target (31) and key passes (28) than any other player at the club, meaning he is a constant threat from anywhere on the pitch.
His overall performances have earned the striker a solid season rating of 7.04/10 from WhoScored, making him the second-highest rated player at Coventry.
