Football is ceaseless conveyor-belt of wonder. Well, that’s a kind way of putting it I suppose. Today’s Sun newspaper brings us another gleaming gem to toss one pile with all the others.

Tottenham who have whipped themselves into a frenzy of expectation after their inclusion in the Champions League qualifiers have seen their odds in many markets begin to shrink. Fair enough, rightly so etc etc. But favourites to win the Premiership? Ahem *cough cough*… yeah, sure.
On Chelsea, his thoughts are slightly more balanced. With Ancelotti at the helm I believe that they will absolutely be the team to beat this season.
“Our aim this season is to finally win the Champions League. Could we win a treble, the way Inter Milan did last season? Not so fast – it will be a tough job just to defend our league title.”
“But I believe that this will be the most thrilling season ever in the history of the Premier League.”
If Tottenham win it, that will be the understatement of the century, mate.
