Unless you’ve been living on Mars since he ended his playing career, you will be aware of the often all too public decline of Paul Gascoigne.

He will be mostly fondly remembered on these shores by Newcastle United and Tottenham fans for being a legend in both the Lilywhite and Barcode jerseys.

In recent weeks he ‘found’ himself in a car crash. It was yet another messy, dog’s dinner of a tale fueled by booze and stupidty.

Yet only a few days ago, Gazza eclipsed that stunt by turning up drunk at the crime scene of Raoul Moat.My thoughts aren’t really ‘what a silly/sad thing for him to do’, rather what’s next? Because whatever it is, the odds are it will end in unmitigated disaster.
