If LVG is sacked, Man United’s new boss must sign these 5 players

By Joe Merrill

The will they/wont they saga between Manchester United upper staff and Louis van Gaal has been drawn out for quite some time now.

If the Dutch manager manages to claim the FA Cup, maybe he can keep his job, but it looks like there will be a new boss at Old Trafford.

There’s been the long rumoured appointment of Jose Mourinho to United, but many think he would not fit at a club like United. With any new boss comes the ability to buy new players.

Whether it’s Mourinho, Giggs or some other poor soul destined for the high-pressure position to manage the Red Devils, a summer of big spending in Manchester is very likely.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic

An obvious choice, as Zlatan has suggested that he would like a move to United under one condition: Louis Van Gaal is no longer in charge. The ‘Ferrari’ of footballer’s contract is set to expire, so the Red Devils will only have to pay his weekly wages, which will still not be cheap.

Harry Kane

The most exciting young English footballer since the days of young Wayne Rooney, Harry Kane should be high on the list of whoever manages the Red Devils next season. While the striker has said he wants to stay at White Hart Lane, it’s tough to turn down an offer when the big clubs come calling.

James Rodriguez

With Real Madrid likely to sign Chelsea’s Eden Hazard this summer, they could be looking to move some of their player to make room for the Belgian. The 2014 World Cup Golden Ball winner would fit well in United’s XI as he has not been able to find his true form at Real Madrid this season.

Raphael Varane

Another player lost in the sea of talent that is Real Madrid, the 22-year-old centre back is touted as one of Europe’s top young talents. Having seen little playing time this campaign it’s likely that he will be shown the exit door and could thrive in an environment like Old Trafford to solidify the Red Devils back four.

John Stones

Another defensive target for the new Man U boss is the often rumoured about John Stones. A Varane – Stones duo could hold down the United back four for year to come and mirror the likes of Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic.
