Stoke have enjoyed quite the turnaround in the last few weeks – and the Potters in the Football Transfer Tavern are loving it…

Despite a poor start to the season, Stoke have won each of their last 3 games – and Mark Hughes looks like a man on a mission.

He has finally managed to get the best out of his players, who were, only a few weeks ago, looking poor.

However, whilst several players have hit a run of form – it cannot be denied that Stoke have a number of players that are simply not good enough.

Be it through age creeping up with them, or a lack of game-time – Mark Hughes needs to wield the axe and move on some of his forgotten players.

With that said, it’s time for Hughes to wield his axe on these THREE Stoke City players

 Peter Crouch

Peter Crouch has been an excellent servant for Stoke City, and in fact he’s been an excellent servant for the Premier League – but his time at the top is over.

He has found gametime increasingly difficult to come by in recent weeks, and under Hughes – Stoke’s style of play has become indistinguishable to that of which Crouch found his form during his arrival at the Brittania.

At 35-years-old, Crouch’s career is winding down – and Stoke is not the place for him to place his final few seasons.

A big move move abroad might work for the veteran English forward.

 Charlie Adam

Charlie Adam has seemingly been around forever, and whilst he is not a very popular figure in the Football Transfer Tavern – he is a solid worker who has always done a job for Stoke.

However, like Crouch, Adam has found his gametime limited so far this season – and his style of play is not really suited for Mark Hughes.

He could do a job for a side battling relegation, but Stoke don’t look set to be battling down there this season.

 Jonathan Walters

Jonathan Walter’s is another player that has found limited gametime this season, and when he has played – he has looked pretty poor.

He was always a pretty good goalscorer, but as of late the goals have dried up – and his career is certainly reaching it’s twilight.

He still has a few years left in him, but those years are not at Stoke.

Mark Hughes certainly needs to invest in a forward or 2 – and Walters should be moved on in order to fund such a project.
