Keep, axe or loan? The 3 players who just aren’t good enough for Tottenham anymore

The Spurs supporters here in the Football Transfer Tavern have been extremely happy with their team this season and a second successive finish in the top four of the Barclays Premier League looks pretty much nailed on.

The North Londoners won’t have given up hope of getting their hands on the Premier League title just yet, although their chances of toppling Chelsea do look pretty slim despite closing the gap to four points last weekend.

A couple of Spurs fans are enjoying a couple of 2-4-1 cocktails here at the landlord’s cocktail bar and they are talking about what is required in the summer, so that Spurs can ensure another jaunt at the Premier League title next season.

Our landlord has caught this conversation with some intrigue and he feels that an overstocked Spurs squad will probably be trimmed down in the summer and here he looks at one squad member who should be kept, one who should be axed and another who should be loaned out.

Keep – Kevin Wimmer

The Austrian central defender has not featured two regularly for the first-team since arriving almost two years ago but with Spurs short of defenders there is hope that he could still have a future.

One Spurs fan is sat flicking through the newspaper here in the Tavern and he thinks that Wimmer is well worth keeping, stating that he is still young enough to go on and become a quality player for the team.

Axe – Moussa Sissoko

When Spurs parted with £30 million last summer to sign the France midfielder there were several eyebrows raised here in the Tavern.

The signing simply hasn’t worked out according to plan and if they can find a potential suitor then Spurs would be better served cutting their losses on the midfielder.

Loan – Vincent Janssen

The Dutch striker netted his first league goal from open play in last weekend’s win over Bournemouth and given his performances of late it would perhaps seem harsh to toss him aside after just one season at the club.

One Spurs fan is in the Tavern tucking into a belated Sunday lunch and he thinks that the big Dutchman should be loaned out to a Premier League outfit for next season, in order to build up his confidence.

Spurs fans, would you agree with our landlord’s assessment regarding these three fringe players? Let us know in the comments below!!!
