Our Sunderland fans here in the Transfer Tavern are pretty resigned to their club going down at the moment.
The Black Cats have had a torrid time of things this season and look as though they will go down sooner rather than later in the Premier League this year.
It does seem, too, that it has been a long time coming with them scraping by for the last few seasons and the pressure on David Moyes has certainly mounted over the last few months with form just not turning around.
The Scottish manager came in at the start of the campaign, of course, and many felt that he was the ideal man to build on Sam Allardyce’s work but that is not how things have turned out and it now remains to be seen if he is at the club next year.
Indeed, he was asked about his future recently and – as quoted by The Express – he seemed to suggest that he has not made his mind up over whether he’ll go or not.
He said:
“I would say that I would make that decision at the end of the season.
“Because, at this moment in time, it would be the wrong time to say that.”
