Our West Ham fans here in the Transfer Tavern can’t wait to see what their side does in the summer with this season looking set to finish in a pretty poor way.
The Hammers really haven’t had a season to remember with pretty much everything that could go wrong going wrong.
Indeed, the players have been poor, the stadium has had a lot of critics and the fans really haven’t been pleased for pretty much the whole of the campaign.
Certainly, the club’s owners have come in for plenty of criticism, too, and David Gold has once again come under scrutiny over the club’s spending.
It started with Gold reacting to comments from pundit Jason Cundy and from thereon, a big debate ensued.
Here, then, is how things panned out:
Cundy on Bilic: “WH are doing everything on the cheap, with transfers + loans, he should seriously think about walking before he is pushed.” pic.twitter.com/Z1SeCybIT0

Cundy doesn’t no what he’s talking about, taking player on loan with a view to buy is a good way to do business. Lanzini worked Zaza didn’t https://t.co/GABX07NlKM

@davidgold I agree if we were a club on a shoestring budget. But we shouldn’t be a club on a shoestring budget. Fans want you to gamble big

Leeds, Portsmouth, Bolton, Sheffield unt, Coventry, QPR, and many more, all gambled and are no longer in the Premier League. dg https://t.co/koSwZkSgCU

@davidgold so you’re just gonna keep the money in your own pockets and not spend it then?
— Sam Puncher (@sam_puncher) 26 March 2017
There is a big difference between reckless gambling and wise investing. dg https://t.co/DA1PMY6ue4

@davidgold loaning Zaza and Tore is not wise investing
— ㅤ (@Evxrest) 26 March 2017
@davidgold Spending 8 million on a 32 year old defender and a similar amount on a 29 year old journeyman midfielder is wise?
— Anthammer (@AntWadebridge) 26 March 2017
@davidgold haven’t seen much wise investment, unless you mean the money you got for Upton Park..
— Nigel Banks (@Nigelb62) 26 March 2017
@davidgold where’s the Payet money?
