Responding to a montage on Twitter of defender Ben White’s performance in midfield against Huddersfield Town last weekend, many Whites supporters have been in awe of the youngster’s showing in a different position to his natural – with one fan even stating he could be a ‘future England captain’.
White, despite registering the second-lowest SofaScore rating out of anyone in the starting eleven during their 2-0 victory, scoring just 6.7, did manage to take 41 touches and complete 73% of his passes in total – whilst also winning all of his attempted aerial duels.
The Englishman, who is currently on loan from Premier League outfit Brighton, has started 37 Championship games for Marcelo Bielsa’s side since joining in the summer – highlighting just how highly the manager rates his contributions to Leeds’ current league standings. Indeed, judging by this footage as well as the stats, it’s debatable whether the club could opt to make White’s deal permanent.
