Leeds United fans were left feeling frustrated after a table showing the club’s lack of spending in the transfer market emerged.
That’s because, according to figures collated by Transfermarkt and relayed on Twitter by fans on social media, the Whites are one of just two clubs in the Championship not to have spent a penny in the summer of 2019, despite their revival under Marcelo Bielsa.
This could be down to the club’s policy regarding signings, which seemingly focuses on loan deals rather than permanent ones. In the summer transfer window, Marcelo Bielsa’s side made five signings with every single one of them having been loans. Indeed, it seems this trend could be set to continue after the club were linked with a temporary transfer of Che Adams from Southampton (via Phil Hay).
As you can imagine, fans were left feeling incredibly frustrated after the graphic showing the club haven’t spent a penny this season emerged as they took to Twitter to react. Here is a selection of tweets from the Elland Road faithful to have emerged as a result, where one fan raged that it is ‘disgusting’ and ‘shocking’…
Disgusting to see and with biggest income, shocking
