Leeds United: Fans react to Ben White snub for Player of the Month award

Leeds United fans could not believe Ben White was not nominated to win the Sky Bet Championship’s Player of the Month award.

The August nominations for the Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month award have been announced!

The four nominees were announced on Thursday morning, but not one single player from the Elland Road outfit was in the final shortlist.

Daniel Johnson (Preston North End), Lyle Taylor (Charlton Athletic), Mike van der Hoorn (Swansea City) and Ollie Watkins (Brentford) were the final four.

Indeed, it seems a number of the Whites’ fans could not understand why White was not included and stats from WhoScored, perhaps, appear to justify why he should have possibly been included in the nominations.

White appears to have become a mainstay in Marcelo Bielsa’s first-team and has recorded an average of 2.5 tackles, 4.2 interceptions and 3.7 clearances in his six Championship appearances so far following his season-long loan switch from Brighton and Hove Albion.

Fans took to Twitter to question why he was not included on the shortlist, whilst others simply could not believe the 21-year-old was not a contender.
