Many Leeds fans have backed the decision from the Whites squad to pledge £25,000 to a campaign led by Marcus Rashford to end child food poverty in the United Kingdom.
The Manchester United forward is currently leading a campaign to the government to continue their free school meals programme. The 22-year-old’s initiative was put forward in Parliament by Labour but unfortunately was rejected, although a number of councils and businesses have now backed the campaign through funding.
Leeds have pledged £25,000 towards the initiative, with club captain Liam Cooper announcing via Twitter that he and his teammates will help Rashford and his cause.

Following Cooper’s tweet, many Leeds fans showed their support to the cause and heaped praise on the Yorkshire club for taking part in the “important” campaign.
Leeds fans express their pride at players’ donation
Stood in Sainsbury’s crying. I’m so so proud of you & the boys Coops!! This is insane, why do we have footballers looking after the most vulnerable and not the government?!

Thanks skipper. And thanks Marcus. Man United he may be. But some things are more important than football.
