Liverpool fans here in the Tavern are still yet to get over their win against leaders Manchester City, as they now look to carry their momentum into the next encounter. 

Jurgen Klopp’s side are currently enjoying one of their best periods of football in recent history, as the weekend’s win now takes them to 18 games unbeaten in all competitions.

Although, with them still facing some stiff competition from Spurs who sit just outside of the top-four places, it’s still all to play for as the Reds go on in search of more magical European nights at Anfield.

However, it’s not been all smiles on Merseyside in recent times, as a settled attack has its problems when it comes to players failing to break into the side.

As Daniel Sturridge continues to look for a move away from Anfield,  Liverpool have stated they won’t budge unless it’s a permanent offer for the 28-year-old, making life difficult for the England international on Merseyside right now.

Which was put into practice in the past couple of days, as Jurgen Klopp rejected a loan offer from Spanish side Seville for the Englishman, an action that many feel will have many repercussions for this Liverpool side.

Negative impact on players

It doesn’t take a genius to know that Daniel Sturridge must be desperate for a move away from Anfield, with the World Cup looming and a place on the plane far from confirmed for the 28-year-old.

Although, after having the recent loan bid rejected, the striker won’t be in the best of moods as he returns to training this week after being denied the chance of gaining some footballing minutes elsewhere.

A move that could spell trouble for an in-form Liverpool side, as bad vibes being let off by Daniel Sturridge, could potentially disrupt the whole mood of the camp in what is an important period for the Reds.

Exceedingly high wage bill

In looking to get rid of the Englishman on a permanent deal, it may struggle to attract teams to make an approach after injuries and a lack of first-team football continues to play in the back of potential buyers’ minds.

However, with him currently on a wage around £120,000 it’s made it seem as if Liverpool are wasting their time in dismissing offers, as money that can possibly be used in additions to the squad is currently being soaked up.

Even a loan deal could see any interested party at least contributing towards his weekly haul.
