Retaining your most important players is just as important as bringing new talent in, and David Silva has done it all during his tenure in Manchester. A consistent member of the Man City midfield, he’s a real fan favourite in the pub.

This would be a hugely important deal for a number of reasons.
Firstly, and perhaps most importantly, despite his age, Silva is still a top player. He continues to feature regularly for the Citizens, and provided his form doesn’t dip, that is unlikely to change going forward.
What’s more, his age also makes him a senior member of the squad, and in a team that continues to get younger, his experience is so important.
Guardiola and co should get this deal tied up as soon as possible.
