Manchester United are preparing for a major summer overhaul, with significant changes expected both in terms of arrivals and departures.
While names like Bruno Guimarães and Iliman Ndiaye have been linked with a move to Old Trafford, the bigger focus is likely to be on players heading out.
Casemiro is set to leave at the end of his contract, while Joshua Zirkzee and loanees Marcus Rashford, André Onana and Tyrell Malacia could all depart permanently.
Now, another player appears to be edging closer to the exit door, with the club having reportedly set their asking price.
United Set Ugarte Asking Price
Manchester United are prepared to sell Manuel Ugarte this summer, with the midfielder increasingly keen on a move after a difficult first season at the club.
The 24-year-old, who arrived from Paris Saint-Germain in 2024 on a long-term deal running until 2029, has struggled to establish himself as a regular starter. He has made just 21 Premier League appearances and is not considered a natural fit for the current system.
Ugarte — who was reportedly described as “complacent” behind the scenes by former boss Ruben Amorim — is understood to be open to leaving, with his desire for a move now well known within the club. He had explored a loan exit during the January transfer window, but United opted to keep him at the time.
However, circumstances have since shifted, and a permanent transfer is now a realistic outcome.
According to Caught Offside, United are believed to be seeking around €40 million for the Uruguay international, despite his market value being slightly lower. His wages, thought to be around €4 million net per year, are not expected to deter potential suitors.
Juventus are currently leading the race for his signature, with their interest dating back to his time at Sporting CP. A move to Serie A is viewed as a strong possibility, although much could depend on whether the Italian giants secure Champions League football.
After a frustrating spell at Old Trafford, Ugarte looks increasingly likely to move on in search of a better fit. For Manchester United, his departure would form part of a wider squad reshuffle — one that could see several high-profile exits as the club looks to rebuild ahead of next season.
