Manchester United ‘preparing move’ for “the best midfielder in France”

Share

Manchester United are continuing to reshape their midfield following Casemiro’s departure this summer.

The Red Devils have already agreed a deal worth close to £50 million for Chelsea’s Andrey Santos, while a proposed move for Atalanta midfielder Ederson has reportedly been complicated by concerns over multiple medical assessments.

As a result, United appear to have turned their attention elsewhere, with one of France’s standout midfielders now emerging as a serious target.

Man United Preparing Move for Manu Kone

According to TEAMtalk, Manchester United are considering a move for Roma midfielder Manu Kone after learning the French international is interested in testing himself in the Premier League.

The 25-year-old, who has been described as “the best midfielder in France” by French legend Patrick Vieira, is valued at around £50 million, with Roma willing to listen to offers for the right price.

Kone enjoyed an impressive campaign last season, registering two goals and three assists in 37 appearances, while also enhancing his reputation with a series of strong displays for France at the 2026 World Cup.

Manchester United are not alone in monitoring the midfielder, with Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool all informed of his availability.

However, with uncertainty surrounding Ederson’s proposed arrival, Kone has now emerged as a genuine option for Ruben Amorim’s side as they continue rebuilding their midfield ahead of the new season.
