Manchester United struggled past Champions League opponent Young Boys this week as the pressure continued to mount on manager Jose Mourinho.
The Portuguese manager has struggled to get much going for the Red Devils this term, and inconsistencies and off field issues have seemingly marred their season to the point where they are already out of the title race.
However, things carry on as normal for United, and one thing the club will be wanting to ensure is that they keep snapping up the best talent in the world as and when they can.
That’s why we here at the Tavern think United should look to sign Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar, who put on a masterful display against rivals City during midweek to further enhance what is already a glowing reputation in the game.
Aouar looks to have all the credentials of being a top quality midfield player, and signing for a club like United, who themselves need players in the middle of the park, would be a big and bold move for the 20-year-old.
A player of this talent will never stay put at a club like Lyon for a massive period of time, but with so much interest bound to be brewing in the game, United need to act fast to secure Aouar ahead of their rivals.
The £35m-rated star is a player who looks like they can go all the way, and for United, it would be a massive coup if they were to cement a deal for the youngster.
