Leeds United returned to third place in the Sky Bet Championship on Wednesday evening, much to the delight of their passionate supporters here in the Transfer Tavern.

The Whites were at their devastating best in the second half of the game against Nottingham Forest, eventually running out 2-0 winners following a laborious first-half performance.

Today sees the Leeds faithful here in the Tavern prepare to watch their team in action against Sutton United, who are one of just two sides left in the competition at the fourth round stage.

The Leeds fans who have gathered around the Tavern’s big screen in preparation are hopeful that their team can secure an easy passage in round five, although they do concede that Sutton’s plastic pitch could make it a tricky afternoon for them.

Given that Wood has played a lot of football already this season Monk would be forgiven for wanting to rest his big target man.

Sutton will definitely have a go in this game however and Wood’s presence in attack is likely to be needed this afternoon.

After netting his 20th goal of the campaign against Forest in the week Wood will be brimming with confidence and he should start here.

Alex Mowatt

The Leeds youngster has seemingly fallen out of favour with boss Monk, although he could be given a chance to shine this afternoon.

Mowatt will need to take his chance to try and force his way into first-team recognition and it will be a game he will be undoubtedly up for.

One Leeds fan is playing pool with his pals here in the Tavern and he thinks that Monk needs to start utilising Mowatt much more than he currently is.
