Moyes ready to turn to lethal forward to save Sunderland season

There’s really not been much for the Sunderland fans in the Transfer Tavern to shout about right now as the Black Cats endure the joint-worst ever start to a Premier League season.

Although the Black Cats seemingly have nine lives when it comes to a relegation scrap, even the weary Wearside locals are not holding out much hope this time around.

Still, reports from the Sunderland Echo have at least sparked a feeling of optimism amongst the Stadium of Light frequenters.

They’ve revealed that the club have been scouting Malian forward Moussa Marega, who is currently on loan with Vitoria Guimaraes from Champions League side Porto.

The 25-year-old African has bagged eight goals in his last 10 games and is understood to have caught eye of Sunderland officials thanks to his performances of late.

Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool have also been linked with moves for the lethal forward, further complicating matters for the Black Cats.
