Lots of Newcastle United fans have reacted to comments from former Uruguayan international Dario Silva after he told Il Posticipo that his fellow countryman Edinson Cavani should snub the Tyneside club.
Following a successful takeover, it is plausible that the Magpies may have the money to persuade a player like Cavani to join them, but Silva urges against this. He explains to the outlet that he dreams of seeing the PSG man at Real Madrid, and compared Cavani to himself as a footballer.

Indeed, the 33-year old may have left his best years behind him, but he would arguably still be a shrewd signing for the Toon if they can get a deal over the line. The striker has scored seven goals and provided three assists in 22 appearances in all competitions this season, according to Transfermarkt.
However, Cavani boasts a much more impressive record over his club career so far, netting 341 times and making 65 assists in 556 games, as per the website.

Remember that we’re not a Champions League club at the moment. We need players that will help us organically get us to Europe, otherwise we may be looking at a QPR situation

Personally don’t want any money, greedy journey men, would rather have players that want to play for the Toon and wear their heart on their sleeve every game ⬛️⬜️⬛️⬜️⬛️
