Newcastle United: Saudis say that takeover ‘will be approved in the coming days’

Saudi Arabia are reportedly confident that the proposed takeover of Newcastle United ‘will be approved in the coming days’, according to The Shields Gazette.

Which Bundesliga club did Newcastle purchase record-signing Joelinton from?

As per the outlet, sources in the Kingdom have believe that the Premier League have now got the concessions and assurances it needs to finally approve of the £300 million bid.

However, there still remains caution on the side of the Tyneside club following several delays over the course of the whole saga.

The Magpies are set to welcome reigning FA Cup champions Manchester City to St. James’ Park in the quarter-final clash at the weekend, but despite a chance to reach the semi-final at Wembley Stadium, it seems as if there are bigger fish to fry in the North East.

Following the restart of the top flight, perhaps the prospective takeover has been put to one side as England’s highest division have had to make sure that the games run smoothly following the global pandemic outbreak.

However, following the accusations against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) by Qatar with regards to them running the pirate satellite TV channel beoutQ in their own country, it seems as if some members of the Toon faithful would like the league to act fast and approve of the deal.

The report from the World Trade Organisation (WTO) did not tie Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) or his Public Investment Fund (PIF) to the channel, which may come as a welcome relief, but piracy issues in the country have not all been cleared up.

Should Newcastle be concerned about the WTO report with regards to the takeover?

Nevertheless, some NUFC supporters will surely be delighted that the deal could be approved within the next few days if the Saudis are to be believed.
