They’ve made a decent start to the Premier League season, whilst a stellar 3-1 win over Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League has given them the perfect start to the campaign.
In the Premier League, though, the action never stops, and just as soon as celebrations ended on Wednesday evening, preparations were beginning for Tottenham’s next clash – a game against Swansea.
Paul Clement is an impressive manager, and he won’t make it easy for Mauricio Pochettino. Fortunately, Tottenham have a host of top players in their arsenal, and so a few team changes could be just what Pochettino needs to give his team the edge.
With that said, Pochettino must not start these 2 Spurs players against Swansea – agreed?
Kieran Trippier
Kieran Trippier has been a decent replacement for Kyle Walker, but it’s clear that the long-term solution is Serge Aurier.
The right-back impressed in the Champions League, and there’s no way Pochettino can drop him after that.
Trippier is a solid option, but he isn’t spectacular, and Aurier’s offensive ability makes him the perfect candidate to start against Swansea
Son Heung-min
This is harsh on Son, but it’s a necessary move.
With Jan Vertonghen out of Tottenham’s next Champions League game, combined with Davinson Sanchez’s stellar performance for his new team, the defender simply has to play this weekend.
Be it in a back four or a back five, he did everything right on his debut, and Pochettino will have been impressed.
Unfortunately for Son, given the quality that both Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen bring, he should be the player sacrificed to make this happen.
