Nottingham Forest have recently announced that Brennan Johnson has signed a new long-term contract at the club.
Johnson, who is regarded as one of the brightest prospects coming out of the academy, via the Nottingham Post, has been tied down to a new deal and by doing so has committed his long-term future to the club.
The 18-year-old was said to be interesting a number of clubs but has chosen to stay on at the club where he has been since the age of eight, and who have already placed a lot of faith in him.

After starring in Forest’s under-18’s run to the FA Youth Cup Fifth Round, he has already been rewarded with a number of first-team opportunities. He came off the bench at the end of the opening day defeat to West Brom and has also started and been substituted on in the opening rounds of the EFL Cup so far via Transfermarkt.
The talent that Sabri Lamouchi sees in him has also caught the eye of Paul Bodin, Wales’ under-21 manager. Johnson has ‘starred’ for the side and scored the winning goal for Wales Under 21s in the recent international break.
Lamouchi said via the BBC: “For me it was just logical. The club want to keep talented young players. Brennan is the first one. I hope they will also sign Alex Mighten.”
Although the club does want to keep hold of their young talents, a fellow forward who Johnson played with, Arvin Appiah, did move on in the summer transfer window to Almeria for £8m via the BBC.

Appiah had only signed a four-and-a-half-year deal with Forest in January, but with the amount of talent in the ranks, it would have been hard for him to get guaranteed game time.
His departure though does mean that Johnson has an even better chance of making the grade at the City Ground and if he can keep developing, there is no reason as to why he cannot do so.
