Nottingham Forest: Fans react to Brennan Johnson’s new deal

Nottingham Forest

Many Nottingham Forest fans have been reacting on Twitter to the news that Brennan Johnson has signed a new long-term deal at the club.

Johnson has committed his long-term future to the City Ground by putting pen to paper even with a number of clubs reportedly (per the Nottingham Post) having shown an interest in him.

The 18-year-old is already in Sabri Lamouchi’s first-team thinking, as he has made three appearances for his side. He debuted in the final minutes of opening day defeat to West Brom, as well as since playing twice in the EFL Cup, starting once and coming off the bench in the other via Transfermarkt.

His ability has caught the attention of those on the international front. Despite being eligible to play for England, Johnson has ‘starred’ for Wales’ Under 21s and even netted the winner for his Welsh side against Belgium in the recent international break.

On the new deal, Lamouchi said via the BBC: “For me it was just logical. The club want to keep talented young players. Brennan is the first one.”

Given the departure of Arvin Appiah recently, many of the supporters were very pleased to see a player- who is regarded as one of the club’s brightest prospects– commit his future to the club.

Here are the responses below…

Excellent news. Hopefully this one’s not sold anytime soon.
