Southampton fans here in the Tavern are fearing the worst after their beloved Saints’ recent poor run of form, as relegation looks to become the likely outcome for their season. 

Mauricio Pellegrino’s side have been far from impressive this campaign and their recent form of late goes to highlight that. Indeed, with them yet to secure a win in the Premier League since the end of November, things are really rather miserable down on the south coast right now.

For a Southampton side who had previously established themselves as one of the secure Premier League teams in years gone by, it now looks as if the rash decisions of the manager and their inability to produce has their top-flight status in doubt.  Of course, Saints fans were hopeful when former Alaves manager Mauricio Pellegrino took over from Claude Puel at the club in the summer months. Indeed, he brings a very attractive style of football that would be incredible to witness in the Premier League, committing bodies forward with a high press being adopted.

In the current position that Southampton are in, Tuchel can guarantee you goals with the way his sides are set up and being one of the lowest scorers in the top-flight has caused for the position they’re currently in.

Slaven Bilic

The former West Ham United manager was relieved of his duties earlier on this season, as he continues to look for a way back into management. Things may well have ended badly for the Croatian over in east London, though he remains a popular figure with our resident Hammers and few can forget just how good his first season was.
