Tottenham Hotspur: Fabio Paratici meets with Randal Kolo Muani’s entourage

Fabio Paratici has reportedly met with the entourage of Tottenham Hotspur transfer target Randal Kolo Muani.

The Lowdown: Support needed for Kane

With just one goal in nine games in the Premier League so far this season (Transfermarkt), Harry Kane is not his usual self.

Should Tottenham sign Muani?

No

However, he is the only senior recognised striker in the squad at the moment, so Nuno Espirito Santo does not have much other choice but to continue playing him up top.

Therefore, they need to bring in another centre-forward to help the England captain when he is not on form or needs a spell out of the team.

The Latest: Muani targeted

As per Foot Mercato, Paratici has ‘very recently’ met with Muani’s entourage over a potential deal, but Tottenham face competition from Bayern Munich, Borussia Monchengladbach and Eintracht Frankfurt for his signature.

He is described by the news outlet as a ‘real revelation’ with ‘enormous potential’, and he could be available for a ‘bargain’ given that he will be out of contract in next summer’s transfer window.

The Verdict: No-brainer

If they can get Muani for free or potentially a minimal fee in January, it is certainly a no-brainer for Spurs.

He has been likened to Paris Saint-Germain and world superstar Kylian Mbappe for his pace and effectiveness in front of goal, and he would offer Spurs a useful alternative option to Kane.

US Boulogne sporting director Aurelien Capoue even claimed that the 22-year-old is ‘much better’ than Arsenal winger Nicolas Pepe after his loan spell there in the 2019/20 season, where he managed to score three goals and supply a further five assists (Transfermarkt).

Comparing their statistics in their respective domestic leagues so far this term, Muani has two goals and three assists for Nantes compared to Pepe’s one assist, and he is also fouled more often on average (2.4 per game) than the Arsenal man.

Considering that Pepe cost the Gunners a whopping £72m, Muani looks to be even more of a bargain, and Spurs need to pounce right away.
