Lots of West Brom fans are furious with the FA as Brentford star Said Benrahma avoided punishment from the football governing body for elbowing Hull City’s Stephen Kingsley despite Mathus Pereira serving a three-match ban for a similar act.
The Brazilian attacker missed the Baggies last three games as the 23-year-old was found guilty by the FA for elbowing Joe Allen in West Brom’s 1-0 defeat to Stoke City last month (per BBC Sport). However, Benrahma has been dismissed of any charges for a similar incident on Kingsley last Saturday as reported by The Athletic, coming out unpunished and free to play in Brentford’s upcoming games.
With Pereira accepting his punishment from the FA and Benrahma coming away scot-free, plenty of West Brom fans on social media were angry to see the Brentford star escape a match ban despite the similarities in the two incidents.
