West Ham United are thought to have been taking a close look at Samir Nasri recently as Manuel Pellegrini is keen to add cover to his options.
The Hammers have suffered a number of injuries this season and has seen his midfield options seriously depleted recently.
Jack Wilshere, Carlos Sanchez and Andriy Yarmolenko have all been ruled out for a significant period of time, whilst Pedro Obiang and Mark Noble have both also missed action at times.
Nasri is currently a free agent after having his deal with Antalyaspor terminated because of the drugs ban he received.
The newspaper are claiming that the former France international began training on Thursday and is willing to go on trial without being paid in a bid to prove he can still play at the top level, with Pellegrini thought to have pleaded with the board to let it happen.
The Verdict:
Nasri appears to be showing some dedication in trying to get a contract at West Ham, although it is believed he wants a large contract to join them.
Pellegrini appears to be desperate to have his former Manchester City star join him at the London Stadium and it seems the 31-year-old wants to reunite with the manager that helped him win a Premier League table.
It remains to be seen if the Hammers and Nasri agree to a deal, however, if the midfielder’s willingness to go unpaid to try and prove himself goes well, it could become a great signing for the Irons.
