West Ham United are believed to be acting quickly on the possibility of making a signing this winter.
It is understood that the former Premier League winner will team up once again with Manuel Pellegrini on an initial six-month contract, with the option of it being extended further should he impress.
The 31-year-old is currently a free agent after he had his contract with Turkish side Antalyaspor terminated following his doping ban.
Nasri, who is expected to earn around £80,000-a-week at the Hammers, is available to train with a side, however, he is not eligible to feature for them in a competitive fixture until the end of December.
Pellegrini is thought to have turned to his former Manchester City star following the injuries he has had to a number of his players, including Andriy Yarmolenko who is expected to miss the rest of the season.
The Verdict:
An apparent deal for Nasri appears to have come by rather quickly for West Ham, although that could be down to the amount of interest the former France international is thought to have in him.
Pellegrini knows how the 31-year-old operates and they have worked extremely successfully together in the past, so it could be an inspired signing for the Hammers to make.
It would also be considered the correct decision to have the player on just a short-term deal, as Nasri is not likely to make a significant impact over a number of years and would be best utilised in the immediate future.
